Dr. Patricia Connolly
Founding Partner, CEO
Patricia Connolly, PhD, draws on nearly three decades of executive, IT and academic leadership to create and implement SMC Squared’s strategy, vision and mission. With cross-industry experience building and leading high-performing IT teams, leveraging global talent, and mitigating corporate risk enables her to understand intimately the unique challenges faced by SMC Squared clients and to develop solutions that provide immediate results and long-term flexibility and innovation.
Her functional expertise includes IT strategy, risk management, LEAN operations, systems development and vendor management, but she is particularly passionate about people—recruiting, mentoring, building and retaining highly skilled and engaged teams. This unique combination of skill and passion helps fuel SMC Squared’s employee-based, insource methodology.
Steven Stephan
COO
Steven Stephan’s career has spanned 35+ years of software development and leadership. His experience from an applications programmer through leading a worldwide organization covers all aspects from great solution design to leadership. The process of turning ambiguous initiatives into functioning systems at scale is what drives his passion for software. Since 2005, he’s focused on leveraging the talent in India and seamless delivery between organizations located in both countries.
Steven co-founded SMC Squared in 2017 as he saw the need to mitigate risks and barriers of entry for US companies to reap the benefits of this proven talent base in India. Focusing on productivity as a common goal that brings global teams together, Steven has helped US companies attain their true cost savings at the same time bringing teams closer together. The traditional India IT services model is flawed, but understanding the true psyche of the India workforce brings great results to companies working with SMC Squared.
Shawn Curti
Chief Client Success Officer
With over 30 years in the industry, our new Chief Client Success Officer, Shawn Curti, is a seasoned executive in revenue, sales, operations, and business development.
Shawn’s expertise spans multiple industries, where he has notably transformed underperforming businesses into thriving entities. His approach is characterized by a relentless pursuit of innovative solutions, exceptional change management, and a focus on flawless execution.
Known for his ability to develop high-performing teams, he has built a reputation for establishing robust relationships at all organizational levels. His success is rooted in his ability to forge supportive, win-win partnerships, with a trademark approach that emphasizes transparency and trust.
Shawn holds a Master’s in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Minnesota and a BBA in Human Resources from the University of Minnesota Duluth.
Malahar Pinnelli
SVP Technology & MD, India GCC Operations
As SVP of Technology & MD, India GCC Operations, Malahar is responsible for the technical and operational success of each Global Capability Center SMC2 builds. Malahar works closely with our clients to understand, guide, and execute a successful Global Capability talent and technology transformation strategy.
His vast experience building high-performing teams and running businesses for mid-to-large-sized organizations provides significant insight to SMC2 partners who are looking to accelerate their innovation while delivering on current goals.
Malahar has a Bachelors in Engineering from Hyderabad, India. He is passionate about human psychology and enjoys playing golf, traveling, and reading.
Govind SR
Managing Director
As a business leader and technologist, Govind SR is a committed leader with more than 25 years of experience building successful teams. Throughout his career, he has led teams through bold transformations in order to help run successful businesses.
In his current role as Managing Director, Govind is in charge of leading the building and expansion of SMC2 India in information technology, development, cloud, data-driven solutions, and business services. Govind also plays a significant role in supporting the development of innovative products and solutions based on new emerging market requirements.
Govind is an active advocate for lifelong learning and holds a degree in Engineering from Bangalore.
Amy Noebel
Senior Director, Client Services
Amy is an articulate, adaptive, and results-oriented leader with over 30 years’ of experience in Information Technology with large, well-known organizations, establishing PMO best practices and leading large Technology and Business transformational strategic initiatives.
A recognized leader and partner in delivering business strategies and technology solutions across organizations, Amy works closely with SMC2 clients as a local partner. In her role, she is responsible for the efficient and effective rollout of talent solutions for SMC Squared clients, whether they are augmenting an existing team or building an entire Global Capability Center.
Scott Evans
Director, Client Services
Scott brings over 25 years of rich expertise in business management, consulting, and software delivery. He is adept in steering large scale complex Product, Agile and AI transformations within prestigious Global and Fortune 500 companies. Scott’s experience traverses’ sectors such as fintech, financial services, gaming, construction, retail, supply chain and healthcare.
As a leader, Scott has a metric driven gift for unlocking potential, mentoring individuals, and teams to achieve peak performance. His strategic vision in change leadership has successfully navigated organizations through complex global transitions, including mergers and acquisitions, always with a keen eye on the overarching IT management landscape. His leadership style is transformative, fostering a culture of global innovation and enabling sustainable corporate success.
Scott has a degree in Business Information Systems, certifications in Product Management, Agile Delivery, Azure Cloud Services and has a passion for seeing people tap into their unseen potential along with writing content that inspires thoughtful conversation.
Mari Kam Aipa
Director, Marketing
Mari Kam Aipa, MMH is a digital marketer and leader recognized for her communication, creativity, team-building, and leadership skills. From startups to Fortune 100 companies, Mari has worked with organizations of all sizes across various industries to assist in managing and executing effective digital marketing strategies that strategically support company’s lead generation and increased business acquisition goals.
In her current role as Director of Marketing, Mari is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of strategic and corporate brand initiatives for SMC Squared. Mari holds a Bachelor of Arts in English, Creative Writing, a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management, and a Minor in Asian Studies from the University of Redlands. She also holds a Master of Management in Hospitality from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration.
Gayathri V
Senior Manager, Human Resources
In her current role as Senior Manager, HR, Gayathri is responsible not only for recruiting the best and the brightest talent, but also ensuring that employees flourish as a part of the company family and culture. Gayathri holds a degree in Business Management and a Master’s in Human Resource from Bangalore.
Samantha McManus
Manager, Client Success
With a background in IT Project Management, Samantha has experience assisting various health care industry clients to execute and launch over 100 mobile application implementations and support global talent initiatives.
Specializing in client communications, Samantha is dedicated to ensuring our clients have a positive experience from start to finish as she brings positivity, patience, organization and an eagerness to learn to the SMC2 Executive team.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing; Communications & Journalism from the University of St. Thomas.
