Congratulations to Our MAC Award Winners

We’re proud to announce the recipients of the inaugural Marcella A Connolly Scholarship Award or “MAC” Scholarship, for the 2020-2021 academic school year.  Each year, the MAC Scholarship Award, established by SMC Squared and the Connolly family, will recognize remarkable young women who are working to achieve an education in a STEM-related program.

“Locally, I’ve launched the MAC Scholarship, in partnership with DFW-ATW (Alliance of Technology and Women), to support young women pursuing a college degree in STEM fields.  The scholarship, which is funded through both SMC Squared and me personally, honors my aunt who broke glass ceilings in the 1970s and served as my early role model,” said CEO and Founding Partner Dr. Patricia Connolly.

The 2021 recipients of the MAC Scholarship received a $2250 scholarship from SMC Squared and Cyber Group and a student membership to DFW*ATW to help them build personal networking and mentorship opportunities as they pursue their degrees in STEM.

“I have an opportunity to shape the culture of our company’s growing global organization and to serve as an example for other women who are pursuing technology careers and leadership roles,” said Connolly.  “It is an honor to be able to recognize these young leaders and support their educational journey.”

Please join us in congratulating this year’s recipients:

SMC2 Blog: Building an Engaged and Retained Team for Your Global Capability Center

In the journey of establishing a Global Capability Center (GCC), one of the pivotal steps, as discussed in our previous article “How to Hire the Right People for Your GCC in India”, is ensuring you have the right team on board. However, the journey doesn’t end there. As COO and Co-Founder of SMC Squared Steven Stephan emphasizes, “Initiating, recruiting, and nurturing a team that’s not just skilled but is also deeply engaged and retained is equally crucial.”
